American Ultimate Academy has started our biggest Ultimate Clinic ever! AUA, in partnership with @Panama Ultimate, has brought down top coaching talent from North America to put on a two week ultimate clinic with local leaders.
Over 120 players have started to receive instruction from the coaches. The first night started off with Jesse Shofner’s defensive footwork clinic for the advanced players, which brought a newfound appreciation for utilizing both feet and hips to maximize your athletic potential on defense. On the opposite side of the field, 60 players who are brand new to ultimate turned a simple relay race into a full out competition! Players from across the field stopped their drills to admire the noise and hustle from the newer players as they attempted to move their disc from one end of their team to another.

The exhausted players came back for Tuesday to begin to bridge their new skills into Ultimate. While Panama’s Felipe Ledezma instructed the advanced group on how to effectively cut on the breakside, Tyler Monroe brought a second cutter into the mix and put the players through a continuation cutting drill. The two versus two drill culminated with some exciting catches and great blocks.

The play of camp so far was an explosive catch made by Melissa on Tuesday night, a full extension layout that brought cheers and high fives from both teams on the field.
